I have been a happy user of SPDs for years, but there are some times when I want to be unclipped – such as steep technical climbs at slow speeds. So I have looked at replacement parts for my bike, and a potential successor, so now I have to decide which way to go.
If I upgrade the parts on my bike I get to keep it’s great steel frame and setup.
